The Longest Day

An early morning start for choristers and musical staff, travelling back to Christchurch and a final arrival at our Wellington Hotel around midnight certainly qualifies this as our "longest day" in New Zealand. But what a day. A spectacular drive down the East Coast of New Zealand's South Island, followed by a performance in front of the Crusaders Castle at Christchurch's Jade Stadium for Sky television, ahead of the Super 14 rugby match between The Crusaders and The Hurricanes. The performance was included as part of the Sky coverage of the game across New Zealand. Our sources over here advise that it is unlikley to be included as part of the UK coverage.

An added bonus for the Choir was the visit from our Vice President, Graham Henry who was present at the game in his capacity as coach to the All Blacks.  After watching the match the Choir were then whisked back on a chartered flight to Wellington to catch up with the rest of the tour party.
