SubjectEly concert
Message:Great night in the wonderful Ely Cathedral with the Morriston Orpheus Male Voice Choir and the House Cavalry Band on a dry but bitterly cold night. I enjoyed the before concert rehearsal as well, as it was a chance to get up closer to see my friends in the choir ,as my concert seat was well down the nave. Would have preferred more of the Choir singing than the band but I suppose the band were the main hosts!! Sorry I couldn’t make the Afterglow but felt rough with a heavy cold and not wanted to spread y germs amongst you all. So would like to wish you all a Happy Christmas and a Healthy NewYear. Best wishes from us all in LINCOLN. X a

SubjectVisit to Wales August 2017
Message:I am Mervyn Reed from South Africa and a member of the Durban Men's Choir (Bass section)

I have been a great fan of the Morriston Orpheus Choir for many years and now, finally, I am able to afford to pay for a trip to the United Kingdom.

I saw your invitation to join you on a practice night and so planned my trip into Wales to be in Swansea by Sunday, 27th August 2017 so as to able to attend your practice.

I have noticed that you have a summer break and am Praying that you will be back by the time I arrive in Swansea, I would really be disappointed if I was to miss seeing you in person.

Please let me know by return email whether my dream will come true on the 27th August

I have also sent an email to your general secretary

SubjectPershore Concert
Message:There seems so little that we can add to the previous tributes made about the Pershore concert but to reiterate it was a perfect evening in every way and a poignant tribute to Sue and John's son Paul from choir, soloists and everyone who contributed in whatever way.
Thank you.

SubjectAn extraordinary evening in Pershore Abbey. Saturday, 17 September, 2016.
Message:There are concerts and there are concerts. This concert was an extraordinary, fabulous success from so many standpoints.
Organised by John and Sue Fletcher to celebrate what would have been their son’s Paul 40th birthday. It was clear from the outset that the planning was meticulous, the communication superb and an overwhelming feeling of a caring family wishing to share their bereaved son’s special birthday. Well, Sue and John, you succeeded wonderfully.
And to hear your granddaughter, Megan sing ‘Till there was you’ was so poignant. What bravery she showed to sing so beautifully, in front of so many.
The Orpheus were quite outstanding. The acoustics in this ancient place were perfect. And boy, did the choir excel.
The power, the precision and timing were as good as it gets. Joy Amman Davies just goes from strength to strength with her “boys”. This performance ranks as one of their best in recent years.
In a performance that was superb throughout, it is difficult to state which were the finest parts of the overall concert, but I have not heard Gwahoddiad sung better by any choir. It was spell binding. And the Extract from Nidaros was so powerful, it was one of the best “goose bump” moments.
Huw Euron, the bass soloist was a superb choice. What an outstanding performer. What a rich depth to his tone. His rendering of the Paul Robeson classic “Ol’ man river” was mesmerising. Quite superb. And when he combined with the choir to sing ‘You’ll never walk alone’ there was not a dry eye in the house.
As the sell-out audience filtered out into the darkness of the night, full of emotion, we knew we had witnessed something very, very special that touched the soul in so many levels.
So, well done to Musical Director Joy and the boys of The Wonderful Orpheus, Organist Leslie Ryan, Accompanist Ieuan Jones and Soloist Huw Euron for entertaining a sell-out Abbey in such superb style.
But a very special thank you to John and Sue Fletcher and their amazing family.
