In 1985 the choir won the prestigious Music Retailers Association Award for Best Choral Album of the Year (LP 'You'll Never Walk Alone'), the only Welsh choir ever to win the award. Former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath made the presentation to Musical Director Alwyn Humphreys at the Cafe Royal in London
